Adam, Rock My World!

UPDATE 27/02/10: Added Improved Music Again.

Well I did tune in to the cellcast but soon gave up. It seems like it was the best concert yet judging by those twitter rumours going around and the available video. Our Wild Idol Adam was truly on fire. He seemed so uninhibited, liberally dishing out his improvisations. He was extra glittery, shimmering from head-to-toe No time to go through each one in detail, heck I haven't even finished Gridlock yet but here are the best videos so far:

  1. Rock and roll is back! I suspect that on tour Adam will go really wild. Adam rocks the world! Diana aka adivianna
P.S. I hope Adam did not hurt Tommy by tugging his hair :)

  2. Welcome back to the world of AL obsession! I was fortunate to be at this concert Friday night. It was absolutely one of the best 40 minutes of my music loving life! I brought my 25 year old daughter with me and even though she isn't an Adam fanatic she couldn't deny his talent and out of this world ability to entertain. I had voted to have the contest in NY and was elated when I received the email to obtain tickets. You had to fill out a form and either have it notorized or send a copy of a picture ID. I did this within an hour of receiving the email. Within 4 days I was emailed the tickets. As it turned out, you probably could have made many copies of the tickets because they didn't check them as was threatened. I arrived around 7:15 and there was a line about one block (70 yds or 63 meters). The venue holds about 700 and there were at least that many people if not more. The line finally started moving around 7:15. We were all starting to get worried that they were going to stop letting people in but fortunately everyone was able to go. As we got into the venue Allison was singing. There was plenty of room to move around and we were next to the bar and had a great view of the stage. We are both tall so if your were short it was probably frustrating. Allsion was great but as soon as Adam took the stage the energy in the room exploded and 90% of the crowd were taking pictures. Since this wasn't televised he really "let loose" and as my daughter said "was inappropriate" frequently and it was wonderful! One of the best moments was when he needed to replace his earpiece and the soundman was inserting upe though the back of his pants. Adam said "oohh, his hand is on my ass" and "he's sticking it too far in". Then he said "for those who I may have offended with those comments....tough shit!" The best description I have seen from those who were there is from Lyndsey Parker from yahoo at http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/realityrocks/314612/the-kradison-concert-allen-lambertiraheta-reunite-for-one-night-only/. We were two of the twenty that left after Adam. I would have stayed but my daughter had come from two hours away right after work and was starving. As much as I respect and like Kris Allen, the change in energy and entertainment would be a let down. They should have let Adam be last but it would have been a slap in the face to Kris. I am glad there wasn't a mass exodus but I was happy to leave with the songs of Adam in my head. I can't wait until I can see him live in concert again; however, it will never be this intimate so I am estastic to have had this once in a lifetime opportunity!

  4. One more comment, Adam's concern for the girl fainting was genuine and the concert was stopped for several minutes until he was sure she was taken care of. There are some videos of it but they don't catch the concern he was showing for her. He kept calling her honey and it was endearing. (Also, I mistakenly said the line started moving at 7:15 instead of 7:45)

  6. Diana, did you notice that Adam kept looking over at Tommy, checking he was OK after he yanked his hair? Adam probably got a little carried away but realised that he might have been a bit too rough. From what I can gather, they are on the same wavelength and I expect Tommy understands that it's all in the name of rock'n'roll.
The more videos I see of Tommy skipping around the stage when he performs, the more I think he looks like a gazelle with gimpy inclinations, waiting to be mauled!

MaTee123, I thought Gridlock was amazing but this tops it. It's so hard to pick a favourite.

Stacey, wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write and share your recap! I'm glad you got to see such "inappropriateness" and were able to share your experience with your daughter. I'm sure she'll be won over into fanaticism soon enough! Did you let your inner teen run riot? And was your daughter embarrassed at any point?!! He was certainly the Wild Idol, much to our pleasure. I loved that there was a lot of ad-libbing and banter with the audience, he's such a natural. One thing I don't understand though, is why you had to queue for so long if it wasn't full. It just doesn't seem very fair to Allison that they took so long to let people in to see her. Anyway, I'm so thrilled you got to see such a concert and hope I'll be able to see his wild side when he visits the UK.

k65535, it's good to be back!

Anonymous, you're welcome, it looks like it was a brilliant concert. And thanks!

  8. Yes, my inner teen was full blast. My daughter commented that she was the parent that night and I was the child! We queued for so long since we were the in the last 100 people that arrived and only missed the first of Allison's songs. They were letting about 50 in at a time. Some people arrived as early as 10 a.m. and it was cold outside. As much as I love Adam I am not that much of a fanatic! Another observation, Tommy interacted with the audience waving and smiling. The audience would yell his name back to him. He didn't seem at all bothered by the hair pulling!

  9. Nikki, thanks, he was so glittery that night. I really hope you see him soon so you don't die!

Stacey, I'm pleased to know that Tommy seemed OK with it. I guess he's probably used to being Adam's gimp on stage by now!

  10. You must be in front of me, judging from the angle of these vids. How to put these on my iPod touch? I'm so alien with this dowload stuff, just got iPod touch. I had the best time of my life that night, waiting 4 hours in the freezing cold was so worth it. Adam said " If I offended anyone.. tough s**t.. Long Live Rock and Roll"
